How CampbellON works
A connected workflow from deployment through secure, real-time monitoring
Deployment Architecture
CampbellON deploys in one of four configurations:
- Hosted in the cloud by Campbell Scientific
- On-premises on the user’s infrastructure
- In a private cloud
- Across multiple clouds
The hosting model is selected at setup and determines who manages the underlying servers.
Program Development and File Management
Data logger programs are written within the program editor, which compiles a program before it is deployed to a monitoring station. This means that syntax errors can surface for editing, rather than being found after the program is running in the field.
Program files and other station files are managed through a separate file manager application, which includes a CRBasic-style editor and automated version control. Earlier versions of a program remain available through version history, so a station’s program can be rolled back if needed.
Data Ingestion and Monitoring
Once a program is deployed, CampbellON ingests the measurements transmitted by the station and stores them centrally. Data views update automatically as new data comes in.
Security
CampbellON uses modern cybersecurity practices and principles, including multi-factor authentication (MFA). Data is fully encrypted at rest within the CampbellON database.
