Issue on using CR6 datalogger as FTP server

Hong Nov 21, 2024 07:03 AM

Hello All,

I met the following issue when using CR6 datalogger (OS version 13.01) as an FTP server.

When an FTP client program (e.g. WinSCP) on an external PC requests CR6 to transfer a large number of files (say over 1000. Each file is only several kB) from the micro-SD card on CR6 (displayed as CRD folder in the FTP client program) to the external PC, error will sometimes occur during the file transfer. After this error occurs, the CRD folder will just be displayed as empty (all files disappear) by the FTP client program. The file list cannot be made to appear again by logging out and in the FTP server. However, the files are still inside the micro-SD card actually, because if the card is taken out and read by a card reader, the files will appear again. When the card is put back to CR6, the file list also re-appears.

This issue can be repeated by using different FTP client programs (WinSCP, Filezilla, etc.). I have also tried transferring a small number of very large files (say under 10. Each is several tens of MB) from CRD folder to a folder in PC. No problem is found in this case.

For your information, during the file transfer, my CR6 datalogger is acquiring data from 3 devices at a sampling period of 1 min. I think CR6 should not be too busy to process the file transfer requests. The connection between CR6 and PC is through my company network, with routers, Ethernet cables and Wi-Fi network in between.

Has anyone of you met this issue before? Did I miss any settings? Thanks.
