Hello,
I am having difficulty accessing a CR800 through the CS I/O port using a Raven XTV and a SC932A interface. I can access the Raven XTV using it's IP address and ACE Manager but the datalogger will not respond. I get the following messages:
Failure: 8/30/2013 18:37:08.516
transaction failure","unreachable destination","Get Logger Program Status
Failure: 8/30/2013 18:37:08.516
transaction failure","unreachable destination","check/set clock
The baud rate was lowered to 9600 baud but still no go and the PakBus address is 1 on both the CR800 and LoggerNet.
Thanks
IN Addition, I have gone through all the troubleshooting tips in the RavenXTV manual but no luck so far. Also, when and used a null modem adapter to connect the modem to the CR800's RS-232 port but no luck there either. According to ACE Manager, modem is passing data to the CR800 but not getting any bytes in reply.
This is discouraging and I have lots of experience with the AT&T GPRS modems and that has been all good. Wish AT&T was not discontinuing GPRS!!
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Larry
I have had the exact same experience that Larry T. has had, including the ability to connect to the Raven XT with AceManager. It almost seems as though the connection between the modem and the CR800 is faulty, since sometimes the commumicaitons to the datalogger work flawlessly. I plan to check those connections the next time I am at the remote site of the equipment.

I have never attempted using CSIO and SC932A but have used the Raven with the COM port on CR800 and CR1000 without issue. Did you upload the Raven CDMA template to the modem before attempting to use it with the CR800?

Thanks for the comment Dave. The CS I/O set up was done by a tech at the shop where the data logging equipment were originally set up. Subsequently, each time I have purchased and installed a Raven XT with a CR800, I have asked the modem supplier to set it up from a template that came from the original unit. All setups seem to work quite well, except for the one I posted about.
The device that was giving me a headache a few days ago also seems to be working ok now that I went to the field where it is located and reset the data logger. A 5 hour trip for a 5 minute job!. I had zeroed the issue down to a problem with either the connection between the modem and the data logger, which comprises two DB9 serial cables with an SC932 interface in the middle, or the data logger itself. Interestingly, the data logger was not running at all when I arrived at the site. Pulling the plug and re-powering the CR800 caused the logger to start up, but run without a program. After starting the program again using “File Control ” and “Run Options in LoggerNet Connect, the CR800 worked fine.

Richard,
There is an issue with certain CR800 operating systems when using PPP and the Raven modems. When telnet sessions hit the logger, the logger did not deallocate memory correctly. In the process, it eventually runs out of memory and acts as you described above. It is recommended that you update the CR800 to use OS 28.02 or 27.05 to resolve the issue. These operating systems can be downloaded from http://www.campbellsci.com/downloads/
