Hi,
We have a small network of CR211's, where each one is connected to a single SDI-12 sonde (YSI branded Exo).
At one site the setup is slightly different as it has an additional SDI-12 all-in-one weather sensor. This particular site had been working fine for a few months until the sonde's SDI-12 data stopped changing and effectively flat-lined (the weather sensor is still working).
Upon using "Terminal Emulator" to manually interrogate the sonde (using 1MC!) I received the correct reply of 10627, however when I requested the data back (with 1D0!) I received "1MSA" which I presume is an error code, however the sonde manufacture has told me this is not generated by their equipment and is likely to be generated by the logger.
Is the "MSA" response generated by the CR211 and if so what does it mean? Could it be associated with the checksum?
Regards
Courtney

If you are still having this problem, there are a few things you can do to check.
Did you see the 1MSA numerous times, or just once?
You could swap bits between sites, move a sonde from one site to the next, see if it is the sonde or the logger (or the cable).
With the Exo sonde, do you need to use the CRC or can you just issue "1m!"?
Reason is that with the response from a CRC, it may be the check you are seeing.
There are numerous other commands to send
1! - acknowledge - should return the sensor address
1i! - identify, should return the serial number at least
1m! - start measurement, should return the sensor number, seconds until data is ready and the number of bits of data (in your example sensor 1, 62 seconds and 7 bits of data)
That is a start anyway
Cheers
