Dears
I have a remote CR10 that is connected via a fixed telephone line using an old DC112. When I try to connect, the modem after answering with a tone that never changes and the connection never goes on, but for what it is in my experience others modems after the answer after emit several different tones and I get the connection with the logger.
The strange thing is that this logger is called from 2 other people with others PCs, modems and SW. One of them has my same problem, while the other gets the connection. Then he sent to me, the configuration of the modem and the PC, trying to replicate it on my PC, unfortunately not at 100% because the modems are different and some AT commands are not compatible. Can anyone tell me what to do?

There are some modems being produced now that do not support the CODECS used by a 1200 baud modem. I recall a few years ago seeing a winmodem (uses windows drivers for modulation/demodulation) where the driver actually caused a kernel panic when the modem attempted to negotiate 1200 baud with a DC112. The only advise that I can give is to use a decent phone modem.
Hi jtrauntvein
many thanks.
Unfortunately, I had already tried with various (serial) desktop modem, professional also, but to no avail.
I want to continue with other tests!
I would hate to "throw in the towel," given that another person normally connects, with a modem similar to what I used in the various tests!
I think the question is that:
because the remote modem emits a single tone?
any suggestion will be appreciated by someone
Many thanks
