I recently bought the CR6 datalogger and I wanted to use the ethernet port to connect a network camera. I want the CR6 to receive images automatically sent by the camera, and then to send them to a remote loggernet server with a GPRS modem. I am not an expert of this kind of problematic so I ask you some advices.
The camera (AXIS P1427-E) supports a lot of protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP etc... and can automatically send an image.
Is it possible to interface the CR6 with this kind of TCP/IP camera ? Should I check some specifications to be sure that the CR6 can receive images from the camera ?

The CR6 can be set to either a FTP client or FTP server. That is probably the easiest option. HTTP is usually not difficult either. Managing the files on the datalogger is the most complicated piece. Loggernet has a File Retrieval tab in Setup for setting up automatic collection of the images off the datalogger. I recommend the option of deleting files after collection for simplicity.
FTP client is done with the FTPClient instruction.
FTP server is handled with settings of the datalogger accessed through Device Configuration Utility.
HTTP would be handled by the HTTPGet instruction.

I think will use the CR6 as FTP server, and my camera will push images on this FTP server. I still have some questions about this topic :
- Is it also possible to use the UDP protocol to receive images from the Camera to the CR6 ?
- Is the CR6 able to receive and store images of any format ?
