The 39358 wind vane, manufactured by Comptus, Inc., is included with the TurfWeather station and may be purchased to replace a vane that has been lost or damaged. The 39358 supports a measurement range of 1 to 60 m/s (2.2 to 134 mph). The thermoplastic, aluminum, and stainless-steel components resist corrosion and contribute to a high strength-to-weight ratio. The vane is directly connected to a precision conductive plastic potentiometer located in the main body. An analog voltage output directly proportional to the wind direction is produced when a constant DC excitation voltage is applied to the potentiometer. A rubber terminal boot is included.
