Overview
The CRS456V consists of a submersible water-level and water-temperature sensor with its own time clock and memory to store the collected data—in a compact titanium case. This data logging capability frees users to place the sensor in remote sites and let it collect data for long periods. HydroSci software is included and elegantly supports test setup, data retrieval, and data display. Long battery life and rugged construction mean you can trust the CRS456V to collect important data. Low cost and ease of use make it a good choice in a variety of applications. The CRS451V is the same as this, but with a stainless-steel case.
Key Advantages
High resolution and accuracy
Technical Description
The CRS456V has several pressure range options.
HydroSci software is available for download. This software simplifies the process of configuring the CRS456V. Users can configure the CRS456V to monitor surface water, ground water, or a standard pump test.
HydroSci software will display the data in tabular or graphical formats.

Common Accessories
(5)25431
Split Mesh Cable Grip, 0.180 to 0.250
The 25431 Split Mesh Cable Grip is recommended for use in wells to center the cable and to provide a method of suspending the cable, reducing cable stretch.
Orderable25366
Replacement Desiccant Tube for Pressure Transducers
The transducer's cable incorporates a vent tube that terminates inside of the 25366 desiccant tube. The 25366 is offered as a common accessory for customers who want a spare desiccant tube. The 25366 desiccant has a cobalt-free indicator that is orange and turns green when saturated. Please note: Prior to August 2019, the desiccant used in 25366 had a desiccant indicator that contained cobalt and would change color from blue to pink when saturated.
OrderableA200
Sensor to PC Interface
The A200 interfaces a CS456V with a PC, allowing sensor settings to be changed via our Device Configuration Utility (DevConfig).
Orderable31648
Heyco Cable Grip Liquid Tight
The 31648 is a clamp with 1 in. NPT threads that allows the CRS456V to be mated with a 1 in. PVC pipe for installations purposes. A 1 in. female adapter socket with FPT threads is needed between the 31648 and 1 in. PVC pipe. This adapter socket is typically available at stores that sell PVC pipe.
Orderable39642
SDI-12 DIN Rail Terminal Bus Kit without Mounting Bracket
The 39642 makes it easier for you to connect wires from multiple SDI-12 sensors into one set of terminals on a data logger. The 39642 uses six DIN-rail mountable (pn 27479), 6-wire terminal blocks. The 39642 is a jumper that electrically connects two terminal blocks together at a time (pn 32918). This setup allows up to 11 SDI-12 sensors to be connected to one set of terminals on a data logger.

Replacement Parts
(6)25366
Replacement Desiccant Tube for Pressure Transducers
The 25366 may be purchased to replace a damaged desiccant tube. The CRS456V is shipped with this small desiccant tube attached to it. The transducer's cable includes a vent tube that terminates inside of the 25366. The desiccant tube prevents water vapor from entering the inner cavity of the transducer. The 25366 desiccant has a cobalt-free indicator that is orange and turns green when saturated. Please note: Prior to August 2019, the desiccant used in 25366 had a desiccant indicator that contained cobalt and would change color from blue to pink when saturated.
Orderable29137
3 oz Bottle of Replacement Desiccant
The 29137 is replacement desiccant for this transducer's desiccant tube. It provides enough desiccant to fill the tube approximately 2.5 times. The 29137 desiccant has a cobalt-free indicator that is orange and turns green when saturated. Please note: Prior to August 2019, the desiccant used in 29137 had a desiccant indicator that contained cobalt and would change color from blue to pink when saturated.

Services
(2)29222
CRS451 or CRS456 Calibration with Data and Battery Replacement
A previously purchased CRS451V or CRS456V can be calibrated using this service. Data for the calibration is included, and the battery is replaced.
Orderable27442
CS45X Recabling Service
The 27442 is a service provided by Campbell Scientific’s Repair Department to recable the transducer. This allows customers to have their CRS45X recabled by Campbell Scientific, not to be recabled by the customer. The customer must receive an RMA (Return Material Authorization) and return the transducer to Campbell Scientific. Please note that the total cost for recabling the transducer is the price of the 27442, plus labor charges, as well as the per-foot price of the cable.
