Overview
The CS215 is a temperature and relative humidity probe that uses a Swiss-made digital humidity and temperature element that makes accurate and stable measurements. The element is based on Sensirion's CMOSens technology, which has been tested for more than two years in alpine conditions. The CS215 outputs an SDI-12 signal that is measurable by most Campbell Scientific data loggers.
Key Advantages
General-purpose temperature and RH probe
Technical Description
The CS215 uses the Sensirion SHT75, a combined relative humidity and temperature element, to provide accurate, stable measurements. The Sensirion SHT75 element is field-replaceable, eliminating the downtime typically required for the recalibration process. The CS215 outputs an SDI-12 signal that's measurable by many Campbell Scientific data loggers.
The CS215 should be housed in a solar radiation shield—typically the 41303-5A. The 41303-5A 6-plate naturally aspirated shield attaches to a mast, crossarm, or tower leg.

(3)RAD06
6-Plate Solar Radiation Shield
When exposed to sunlight, the CS215 must be housed in a radiation shield. The RAD06 uses a double-louvered design that offers improved sensor protection from driving rain, snow, and insect intrusion. It also has lower self-heating in bright sunlight combined with higher temperatures (> 24°C (~75°F)) and low wind speeds (< 2m/s (~4.5 mph)), providing a better measurement.
Orderable41303-5A
6-Plate Solar Radiation Shield
When exposed to sunlight, the CS215 must be housed in a radiation shield. The 41303-5A 6-Plate Gill radiation shield can be attached to a mast, tower leg, or CM202-series crossarm.
Please note that if the application requires that the entire body of the CS215-L sensor be engulfed in the radiation shield, the 41003-5 10-plate radiation shield can be used. Use of the 41003-5 also requires purchase of the 6637 adapter.Orderable39642
SDI-12 DIN Rail Terminal Bus Kit without Mounting Bracket
The 39642 makes it easier for you to connect wires from multiple SDI-12 sensors into one set of terminals on a data logger. The 39642 uses six DIN-rail mountable (pn 27479), 6-wire terminal blocks. The 39642 is a jumper that electrically connects two terminal blocks together at a time (pn 32918). This setup allows up to 11 SDI-12 sensors to be connected to one set of terminals on a data logger.

Sensor Mounts
When exposed to sunlight, the CS215 must be housed in a 41303-5A radiation shield. To attach the 41303-5A to a CM202, CM204, or CM206 crossarm, place the 41303-5A’s U-bolt in the bottom holes. To attach the radiation shield directly to a tripod mast, tower mast, or tower leg, place the U-bolt in the side holes.
The CS215-L Temperature and RH sensor can also be housed in the 43502 if a special adapter from R. M. Young (R. M. Young pn 43537) is used.
