The 27106T Vertical Propeller Anemometer, manufactured by R. M. Young, is a low threshold precision air velocity sensor that is especially suited for your applications where you need to monitor the vertical wind component. It connects directly to a Campbell Scientific data logger, which measures the 27106T's signal and converts the signal to engineering units (mph, m/s, knots).

Technical Description
The 27106T measures air velocity using a fast-response, four-blade helicoid propeller that drives a high-quality tech-generator transducer. The transducer converts the propeller’s rotation to a dc voltage that is linearly proportional to air velocity.
The 27106T should be oriented with the propeller facing the predominant flow of air being measured. Its propeller responds only to the component of the air flow, which is parallel to the axis of its rotation. Off-axis response closely approximates a cosine curve with appropriate polarity. With perpendicular air flow, the propeller does not rotate.

Right-Angle Mounting Kit
The CM221 mounts a pipe or tube at 90° to another pipe or tube. It is typically used to attach a sensor with a vertical pipe (including most wind sensors) to a crossarm. The cast aluminum, right-angle mounting bracket has 3.8 cm (1.5 in.) U-bolts and hardware and will accommodate tubing with a 1- to 1.5-in. outer diameter.

The 27106TCBL consists of a 22-AWG cable with a Santoprene jacket and a connector for attachment to the 27106T anemometer. This cable can easily be replaced by the user.

Mounting
The 27106T is shipped with a 3/4 inch IPS threaded pipe for mounting. The pipe can be attached to a CM202, CM202SS, CM203, CM204, CM204SS, or CM206 crossarm using a 1049 Nu-Rail fitting or CM220 Right-Angle Mounting Bracket.
The 27106T includes a connector/coupler that mates to the sensor and to the 3/4-inch IPS threaded pipe. The customer specified length of cable is soldered to the pins on the connector and the cable threads through the coupler and out the pipe.
