Overview
The KH20 is a highly sensitive hygrometer designed for measurement of rapid fluctuations in atmospheric water vapor, not absolute concentrations. It is typically used together with a CSAT3B in eddy-covariance systems.

Technical Description
The KH20 is typically used with a CSAT3B Sonic Anemometer in eddy-covariance systems for measuring water vapor flux. This highly sensitive hygrometer measures rapid fluctuations in atmospheric water vapor. It does not measure absolute concentrations. The KH20 is compatible with most of our data loggers.
Routine maintenance is required to keep source windows free of scale. You can use the water vapor absorption coefficient for scaled window from the data report if the window will be allowed to scale during measurements.

Air Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensor
One temperature/RH probe is needed per KH20. The HMP155A provides reliable relative humidity (RH) and temperature measurements for a wide range of applications. It uses a HUMICAP®180R capacitive thin film polymer sensor to measure RH over the 0 to 100% RH range. A PRT measures temperature over the -80° to +60°C range.

14-Plate Solar Radiation Shield
One radiation shield is needed for the HMP155A-L. The RAD14 is one option. The RAD14 uses a double-louvered design that offers improved sensor protection from driving rain, snow, and insect intrusion. It also has lower self-heating in bright sunlight combined with higher temperatures (> 24°C (~75°F)) and low wind speeds (< 2m/s (~4.5 mph)), providing a better measurement.

One radiation shield is needed for the HMP155A-L. The 41005-5 is one option. Its louvered construction allows air to pass freely through the shield, thereby keeping the probe at or near ambient temperature. The 41005-5 is white, allowing it to reflect solar radiation. This shield includes the hex nut adapter for the HMP155A.
